Crispy Chicken Sticks Recipe (Halal & Kid-Friendly)

Crispy halal chicken sticks made with tender marinated chicken breast, coated in golden panko breadcrumbs, and air-fried or pan-fried to perfection. A kid-friendly, freezer-friendly Ramadan iftar favorite that’s high in protein and full of flavor.

Equipment

  • 1 Large mixing bowl
  • 1 Wooden Skewers
  • 1 Air Fryer or Deep Frying Pan
  • 1 Measuring spoons

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb Chicken Breast cut into long thin strips
  • 1 cup Panko Breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup Greek Yogurt for marinade
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • Avocado oil spray for air frying

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, mix yogurt, garlic, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  • Add chicken strips and coat thoroughly. Marinate for 30 minutes.
  • Thread each strip onto a wooden skewer.
  • Press each skewer into the Panko breadcrumbs until fully coated.

Air Fryer Method:

  • Spray with oil. Cook at 375°F for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway.

Frying Method:

  • Heat 1 inch of oil in a pan. Fry for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.

Freezer Tip: Freeze breaded sticks on a tray before bagging.
Kid-Friendly: Skip the paprika if they are sensitive to any heat.
